A merciful end to January

My eyeballs need a vacation.

I may have made statements like that before, during/after similar movie-watching binges. But never before have I come off a month where I saw both the most new movies I've ever seen, and the most movies I've ever revisited -- in the same month.

That's right, my big January 2nd, in which I saw eight movies (seven on the plane from Australia, one at home), was a major predictor of things to come. The month got going and simply never let up. When the dust had cleared, after I watched Humpday last night, I'd seen a total of 40 movies that I'd never seen before, and 13 I was seeing for at least the second time. Divide those 53 movies by 31 days, and you get an average of 1.71 movies a day. That's pretty impressive/obsessive, however you choose to look at it, considering that I put in a full day of work on 20 of those 31 days.

Want a look inside my madness? Don't say I didn't warn you.
